Supermarket Income REIT has invested £74.1m (€82m) to buy six UK supermarkets from Waitrose & Partners.
The UK-listed real estate investment trust (REIT) said it has bought the 32,000sqft portfolio via a sale and leaseback transaction with Waitrose.
The stores, let to Waitrose on new 20-year leases, are located in Eastbourne, Edenbridge, Ely, Oundle, Sandbach and Sudbury.
Ben Green, director of Atrato Capital, the investment adviser to Supermarket Income REIT, said: “All of the stores have an impressive trading record and are complementary to our existing portfolio, providing further tenant and geographic diversification.”
