Property developer Stockland and EQT Infrastructure’s global data centre provider EdgeConneX have formed a 50-50 joint venture to develop, own and operate data centres assets across Australia.
The partnership marks the Australian debut for EdgeConnex, which currently manages or is developing a global footprint of 80 data centres across North America, South America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Australian developer Stockland said it had finalised the documentation to establish the partnership with EdgeConneX and that the partners would combine “Stockland’s land development and project management expertise with EdgeConneX’s technical capabilities and hyperscaler relations”.
Stockland has previously said it had secured power and zoning for a 100MW data centre development at MPark Stage 2 in Macquarie Park in Sydney’s North and that it had identified several sites across Sydney and Melbourne.
