The State of Michigan Retirement System has made its first investment with Duration Capital Partners by committing to the North American infrastructure manager’s transportation fund.

The pension fund disclosed in a board meeting document that it made a $100m (€92.6m) commitment to the US open-ended Duration Transportation Infrastructure Capital Partners fund.

US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing shows that the fund had raised $436.8m as of February of this year.

The fund will invest in transportation infrastructure assets, including airports, parking, delivery, railroads, flight support and terminals.

Duration Capital declined a request for comment.

Duration Capital was created in July last year, following its spin-out from Oaktree Capital Management, to focus on transportation infrastructure investments.
