South Carolina Retirement System and Teacher Retirement System of Texas have disclosed making a $150m (€139.7m) commitment each to Greystar multifamily property funds.

South Carolina said it made its commitment to the Greystar Equity Partners XI while Texas Teachers revealed it approved its commitment to the Greystar Equity Partners Asia Pacific Fund I fund.

According to sources that track capital raisings, Partners XI, a US value-add apartment fund, is in the early stages of its fundraising. Greystar raised $2bn in 2019 for its tenth fund.

Regarding the Asia Pacific fund, Greystar stated on its website that it is raising institutional capital to acquire, develop, reposition and manage rental housing assets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Greystar’s total equity under management in Asia-Pacific is valued at $1.5bn.
