Segro acquires 75,000sqm logistics asset in the Netherlands

Segro has bought a 75,000sqm logistics asset in southern Netherlands from Weerts Group.

The asset, in Oosterhout, Noord-Brabant, constructed in 2022, also has a 5.6MW photovoltaic panel system.

The property consists of four units, three of which are leased to fashion retailer Primark, with the fourth let to international health and beauty retailer AS Watson, which owns retail brands including Superdrug and Kruidvat.

Eelco Ouwerkerk, head of the Netherlands, Segro, said: “Following our acquisitions of high-quality warehouse facilities in Noord-Brabant and Limburg earlier this year, this purchase further cements our conviction that the south of the Netherlands is a key logistics market.

“It is important to us that when we invest in new assets or development opportunities that they not only represent excellent commercial opportunities, but that they align with our Responsible SEGRO ambitions to champion low-carbon growth. This asset does both with strong potential returns and impressive sustainability credentials.”

This latest deal follows the June 2024 purchase of a 98,000sqm logistics estate in Eindhoven, a 37,800sqm newly built logistics warehouse in Heerlen, and a 36,500sqm logistics warehouse in Tilburg.
