Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS) has expanded its infrastructure manager lineup by hiring I Squared Capital and Tailwater Capital.

The pension fund said in a meeting document that it has approved a $50m (€42.7m) commitment to ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund II and a $32m investment in Tailwater Energy Fund III.

ISQ Fund II has raised $6.5bn of capital and is targeting mid-sized, value-add infrastructure assets in North America and Europe.

Tailwater Energy Fund III, which raised $1bn, including $100m of co-investment capital, is to acquire growing mid-stream energy assets and non-operational upstream assets.
