Qualitas Energy has acquired a 99MW portfolio of seven wind farms in Germany from Swiss investment manager SUSI Partners.
SUSI Partners said the portfolio was sold by its SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II. Financial details were undisclosed.
The portfolio consists of 33 turbines, commissioned between 2012 and 2017, located across Germany in Schleswig-Holstein, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
Qualitas Energy said it plans to repower the portfolio, aiming to increase its capacity to 173MW while contributing to its goal of achieving 4GW in Germany, where it already manages over 100 projects.
Johannes Overbeck, the head of investments at Qualitas Energy Deutschland, said: “The acquisition of this portfolio represents a significant milestone in our strategy to drive long-term, sustainable value creation in the renewable energy sector. Repowering aging turbines is a key strategy for advancing the energy transition and sustainably optimising the output of wind power projects.
“By replacing existing turbines with new, higher-capacity models, we are accelerating the shift towards a green, sustainable energy future and reinforcing our commitment to both infrastructure renewal and new developments.”
