In a move to boost its presence in Sweden’s capital region, Prologis has signed a deal to buy more than 21,000sqm of land in Rosersberg to build a 10,000sqm logistics facility.
In an announcement, the logistics property developer said the site is ideally located just minutes from Stockholm Arlanda Airport and half an hour from the Swedish capital city’s centre.
Vice president of Prologis Nordics Gunnar Gillholm said: “Stockholm is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in Europe, and historically low vacancy levels have resulted in customers already showing interest in the building.”
The developer bought the plot from the Stockholm-focused property company Rosenqvist Fastigheter, but a spokesperson for Prologis told IPE that the price of the deal has not been disclosed.
Rosenqvist Fastigheter chief executive Mattias Lindqvist said: “The sale is a strategic decision that creates opportunities to focus on other property projects in one of the strongest growth regions in Sweden.
“Prologis is a secure and progressive business partner that we hope to continue doing business with,” he added.
Prologis said that the new building is scheduled for completion in early 2020 and that the acquisition is in line with the company’s strategy to build its presence Stockholm’s logistics market.
