Dutch healthcare scheme PFZW has invested €250m in Dutch care homes through a fund created in a partnership with insurer Aegon.
PFZW’s capital will be used to develop 340 elderly housing units in Huizen via Amvest Living & Care Fund, doublings its total investment in the care home fund to €500m.
The greenfield project will be developed by Waterland RE and PFZW and Aegon’s property development business Amvest. The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
“We look forward to seeing a group of elderly people use these facilities, receiving personal care from healthcare professionals who accrue pensions at PFZW, said PFZW’s president Joanne Kellermann, adding that what makes the investment interesting is that the returns made will flow back directly to the pension of people employed in the care sector.
