Patrizia Immobilien Alexis Gisselbrecht has joined to strengthen the asset manager’s value-add capabilities. Gisselbrecht will be based in London and joins from BlackRock, where he was a director in the European real estate department and where he spent a total of 12 years (including years with MGPA, a real estate private equity acquired by BlackRock in 2013). Marcus Hale has joined as pan-European development director responsible for increasing development capabilities. Hale will be based in London and has nearly 20 years of experience, most recently with Tishman Speyer.

Ivanhoé Cambridge — Chanakya Chakravarti has been appointed to the role of managing director, India, growth markets. He will be mainly responsible for implementing investment and asset management strategies in India, including developing new strategic partnerships. Chakravarti will take up his position on 8 January 2018 and will be based in Mumbai.

Internos Global Investors — Klaus Gehlenborg has been appointed transaction manager to the pan-European real estate fund manager. Gehlenborg’s responsibilities include the acquisition of commercial real estate in Germany for numerous client instructions managed by Internos. Gehlenborg is moving from Schroder Real Estate, where he most recently was product manager.

M7 Real Estate — Harriet Ziegler has been appointed to head up the new Hanover office and to oversee the management of the Onyx portfolio in northern Germany, the asset manager’s joint venture with Blackstone. Ziegler will also be responsible for the recruitment and management of a local team. Prior to joining M7, Ziegler spent seven years as a senior asset manager at Silverton Asset Solutions, where she was responsible for managing properties in a number of non-performing loan portfolios.

M&G — Alex Jeffrey, CEO of M&G Real Estate, will become head of M&G’s Asia business in the second quarter of 2018. Jeffrey joined M&G Real Estate as CEO in July 2012. Before joining, he was founding shareholder and global chief investment officer of MGPA, a real estate investment adviser acquired by BlackRock in 2013. Simon Pilcher, CEO of M&G’s institutional fixed income business, will assume responsibility at board level for M&G Real Estate. Pilcher joined M&G in September 1998. Prior to that, he spent nine years at Morgan Grenfell Asset Management.

AXA Investment Managers–Real Assets — Laurent Jacquemin has been promoted to replace Frank Khoo as head of Asia-Pacific. Based in Tokyo, Jacquemin will be responsible for all operations in Asia-Pacific, including investment, asset management and capital raising. John O’Driscoll replaces Jacuemin as European head of transactions. Based in London, he will oversee the sourcing, selection and execution of acquisitions. He joins from global real estate adviser JLL, where he has been CEO of corporate finance and head of mergers and acquisitions for the EMEA region since 2014. Both appointments are expected to be effective by 1 January 2018.
