LaSalle Investment Management has promoted Andy Watson to CIO for Continental Europe.

The newly created role sees Watson, currently managing director for Continental Europe, chair the company’s Continental investment committee.

LaSalle also said it has created country head roles in Germany and France.

Watson, LaSalle said, will focus on investment performance in the region, with responsibility for investment strategy, underwriting, investment decision-making and new product development.

Watson will also manage the company’s European portfolio management teams.

In Germany, Claus Thomas will become country head, having previously been responsible for capital raising in German speaking countries, Italy and Spain.

Karim Habra, who previously managed the Central and Eastern European platform, will become country head for France.

Since joining in 2012, Habra has managed the Central European platform from Prague.

LaSalle has also replaced Habra as head of LaSalle’s Central and Eastern European business with Chris Zeuner.

David Ironside, who was previously responsible for Continental European acquisitions, will now be responsible for large-scale investments on a continent-wide basis.
