Cromwell Property Group – Lodewijk Zweers has been appointed head of capital and operations for Europe. In the newly created role, Zweers will lead European capital raising and investor relations. He will also manage European operations, including marketing, research and sustainability. Zweers is a founder of a variety of real estate fund management, private equity, and consultancy businesses. Prior to becoming a strategic consultant, he held several senior private equity appointments including managing director of European capital markets at Granite Investment Group and CEO of ZOM Holland.
AMP Capital – Merran Edwards has been appointed to the new role of head of international strategy for AMP Capital Real Estate. Edwards was previously the head of corporate portfolio strategy at AMP Capital Investors. Kylie O’Connor has been promoted to chief operating officer for real estate, responsible for AMP Capital Real Estate’s group-wide functions of finance, strategy, research, governance, risk and compliance, sustainability, business platforms and corporate marketing and communications. O’Connor continues in her current position as fund manager for AMP Capital Diversified Property Fund and will take up her new role when her replacement is appointed. Luke Briscoe, managing director office and industrial, has taken on a broader role with accountability for office and mixed-use development.
AEW – Vanessa Roux-Collet has been appointed general counsel for Europe and joings the executive committee in Europe. She will be responsible for all legal matters in the region. Roux-Collet was previously a senior lawyer at Clifford Chance.
British Property Federation – Robert Noel, CEO of Landsec has taken over as president of the BPF. He replaces Paul Brundage, executive vice president and senior managing director at Oxford Properties. David Partridge, managing partner of Argent is now also junior vice-president, replacing Helen Gordon, CEO of Grainger, who becomes vice-president.
Arlington Advisors – Graham Bloomfield has joined the UK-based investment company as an investment director. Bloomfield will lead on financial evaluation and debt financing. He joins from the financial advisory firm DWPF where he specialised in student accommodation.
The Crown Estate – Alison Nimmo will not seek a third term as CEO and will step down at the end of December next year, after completing her second four-year term. She will be in post for the next 18 months.
ULI – Juergen Fenk, an executive board member of the Austrian real estate company Signa Group has been named the new chair of Urban Land Institute Europe. Fenk, who succeeds Jon Zehner, the global head of the client capital group for LaSalle Investment Management, will serve on a voluntary basis for a two-year term. Fenk, a member of ULI for over a decade, has just completed a four-year term as chair of ULI Germany.
Warehouse REIT – The listed company’s external manager, Tilstone Partners, has appointed Adam Smith as senior asset manager, responsible for the Midlands and Alex Wilshaw as an asset manager in the Southern region. Smith and Wilshaw join Tilstone’s team of 13 responsible for managing Warehouse REIT’s £300m portfolio. Smith joins from M7 Real Estate where he was responsible for co-managing UK assets within a pan-European investment fund, on behalf of Blackstone. Wilshaw joins from Aston Rose Chartered Surveyors.
ESR – Philip Pearce has been appointed CEO of the newly launched ESR Australia. Pearce has been on the board of ESR Funds Management since April 2017. Previously, Pearce was an executive director of Goodman Group.
