Trammell Crow Company, Gecina, CVC, Madison International Realty, Foresight Group, NREP, Savills
Trammell Crow Company – The real estate development subsidiary of CBRE has promoted David Neuman to president of European operations, effective on 1 January 2022. Neuman will oversee the European development businesses, including Telford Homes and European Logistics, and will be responsible for identifying new opportunities to expand the firm’s development business into other product types throughout Europe. He joined the MidAtlantic office of Trammell Crow in 2006 and was promoted to managing director in 2020. Jon Di-Stefano, CEO of Telford Homes, and Ian Worboys, head of European Logistics, will report to Neuman. He will also join the executive committee and report to CEO Mike Lafitte.
Gecina – The board of directors have voted to appoint Beñat Ortega as the next CEO of the French real estate investment trust. Ortegaas will take over from Méka Brunel whose term of office is scheduled to expire at the end of the general meeting on 12 April 2022. Ortega is currently a member of the executive board, chief operating officer and a corporate officer with Klépierre, another European listed retail real estate company.
CVC – Jiri Zrust has joined the private equity firm’s Strategic Opportunities platform as partner and head of infrastructure. He has spent the past 10 years at Macquarie’s infrastructure funds business in London, where he was most recently senior managing director and head of energy transition, and was leading country coverage and origination across infrastructure and real assets in Europe. Before joining Macquarie, he worked for 17 years in the transport and logistics sector. Jiri will join in March 2022.
Madison International Realty – Carey Flaherty has been appointed CIO, overseeing the firm‘s Americas, UK and European investment activities. Flaherty, who joined Madison in 2003 and was named co-CIO in 2017 alongside Derek Jacobson, will continue to be based in Madison’s headquarters in New York City.
Foresight Group – The infrastructure and private equity manager has appointed Ricardo Piñeiro as co-head of its infrastructure division alongside Nigel Aitchison, effective 1 January 2022. He will take responsibility for day-to-day management of the division and will join Foresight’s executive committee. He will also be responsible for Foresight Solar Fund and the company’s infrastructure asset management activities. He previously worked at Espirito Santo Investment where he focused on lending and advisory for the energy infrastructure and transportation sectors.
NREP – The Nordic real estate fund manager has promoted Didde Maria Kristensen and Alfred Eklöf to partner, increasing the partnership to 16. Maria Kristensen has been with NREP since 2015 and currently holds the role of head of investor relations. Eklöf is an investment director and has been with the business for more than seven years, joining in 2014 from McKinsey.
Savills – Nick Harris will become head of UK valuation at the real estate adviser, supported by Craig Timney, who will undertake the role of head of UK valuation operations. Harris will also continue in his role as head of European cross-border valuation. The appointments follow the decision by Ian Malden to step down in the spring of 2022, after 10 years as head of division and 30 years at Savills.
