Nuveen Real Estate – Magnus Kenning has been appointed senior director of logistics in the Nordics. Kenning will be based in Nuveen’s Stockholm office and report to Thorsten Kiel. He joins from DEAS Asset Management, which acquired the Nordic part of Abrdn’s real estate business in June 2021. Kenning spent over 16 years as Abrdn’s head of transactions for Sweden. Prior to joining Abrdn, Kenning was an investment adviser at CBRE where he spent two years advising German investors on the Nordic investment market. Between 2000 and 2003, he also held positions as an adviser in real estate corporate finance at Deloitte & Touche and Andersen Global Corporate Finance.
LaSalle Investment Management – The global real estate investment manager has appointed Rosanna Phillips managing director in its debt investments team and Kevin Kong as director of acquisitions for value-add investments in Europe. Based in London, Phillips brings extensive legal experience in commercial real estate transactions. Most recently, she was general counsel at Intriva Capital. Prior to that, Phillips spent over 10 years at Linklaters, with a particular focus on European real estate finance, and was seconded to LaSalle in that role. Kong joins LaSalle with over 12 years of real estate investment experience. Most recently, he served in UBS Asset Management’s multi-managers real estate group as a director. Prior to this, Kong spent eight years at Meyer Bergman, most recently as SVP for acquisitions. Kong began his career at Citibank London within the EMEA real estate and lodging team.
CBRE Investment Management – Krijn Taconis has been appointed head of transactions in the Netherlands. Taconis will focus on business development and complex acquisition and disposal processes in the Netherlands while collaborating closely with the wider EMEA teams. As well as developing and leading transaction strategies to acquire and sell real estate assets, he will be responsible for the execution of transactions and will oversee the implementation of real estate plans, helping to achieve clients’ goals. Taconis is familiar with the wider CBRE company as he was also previously head of retail at CBRE Advisory where he developed significant experience in retail transactions. Trevor Eden has joined the firm as a senior director on the transactions team in the Americas logistics operator division. In this role, Eden is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, negotiating, due diligence and closing of logistics investments across the firm’s various funds and separate account mandates in the Western US markets. Eden joined the firm from Griffin Realty Trust, where he was a SVP, responsible for acquisitions and dispositions of industrial and office assets in the Western and Southwestern US. Prior to that, he was a senior acquisitions and asset management associate at Thomas Properties Group. Eden began his career in 2010 within the real estate banking group of Wells Fargo.
Collyer Bristow - The law firm has promoted Dan McCarron to partner in its commercial real estate department. He joined Collyer Bristow in 2019 from Eversheds Sutherland and previously Reed Smith. As partner, McCarron will continue to focus on supporting new and existing clients with their transactions following COVID-19 and the resulting shake-up of the commercial real estate sector. McCarron’s promotion takes the number of partners in the commercial real estate team to six.
Westwind Capital - Mark Terry has been appointed as CFO and COO of the new European private equity real estate investment platform. Previously, Terry spent 11 years at Tristan Capital, having been one of the business’ early hires and the first member of its finance team, ultimately holding the role of senior partner and funds’ CFO. McCarron was a member of Tristan Capital’s risk management, compliance and valuation committees. Prior to joining Tristan, McCarron held positions within the real estate group at Macquarie Bank and the private equity real estate firm MGPA.
Knight Frank - Callum Shooter joins the global property consultant’s project and building consultancy team as an associate director. Alongside Callum, Omar Blake joins as senior mechanical engineer. Shooter held previous senior roles at Gleeds and BNP Paribas Real Estate. Blake joins from Enfield Council, where he spent seven years in mechanical engineering following previous roles in facilities compliance and property management.
Actis – Jaroslava Korpanec has been appointed as partner and head of Central and Eastern Europe. As one of the founding partners of Allianz Capital Partners Korpanec has been instrumental in the build-out of the direct infrastructure business at Allianz Capital Partners. Korpanec has led landmark transactions across the transport, energy and utility sectors, predominantly in Central Europe, the UK and Iberia. Korpanec was also a member of the Allianz Capital Partners investment committee. Korpanec, who will join the firm in September, will lead Actis’ energy infrastructure investment activity in the CEE region.
Henley – The private equity real estate investment firm’s US arm has appointed Rodrigo Mansur as US investment director based in Henley’s Boston office. Mansur will work with the investment team in the US to source, underwrite and execute new acquisitions for Henley focusing on opportunities in the multi-family residential market. In addition, he will oversee the firms US asset management function. Mansur joins from Tishman Speyer where he focused on office, residential, life sciences and senior living core and value-add acquisitions. Prior to Tishman Speyer, Mansur spent over five years at HSBC Alternative Investments with responsibility for bringing new real estate investments to market.
Dominvs Group – The London-based real estate investor and developer has appointed Martin Samworth to its board as a non-executive director. Samworth is the former chairman and CEO of CBRE’s advisory business in APAC and EMEA. Samworth will be advising on strategy, operational efficiency and governance, as well as helping Dominvs to expand its £2.4bn pipeline across the UK.
NAS Invest – The property investor and investment manager has appointed Fabian Klocke as head of real estate finance. Klocke acts as the main contact for financing partners and will be responsible for all financing activities with the company. Klocke is based in Frankfurt and reports directly to Steffen Ricken, managing partner and CEO of NAS Invest. Prior to joining NAS Invest, Klocke was responsible for real estate financing at Oceans & Company and advised international institutional investors on raising capital for real estate transactions.
