CBRE Global Investors – Bernie McNamara is taking on the role of head of investor services for EMEA from Michael Clarke. McNamara is currently the global co-head of investor services and solutions. Clarke has stepped down from his role and his responsibilities will transition to McNamara. Clarke has been a member of the management board at real estate association INREV since 2015.
International Campus Group – Rainer Nonnengässer has joined the student housing and micro-apartment developer as CEO. Nonnengässer was most recently the CEO of property peer Youniq, and previously held roles as the CEO of Micro-living at MPC Capital, and as a managing director at AXA Real Estate.
ElmTree Funds – Rick Eiseman has joined the real estate private equity firm as senior vice president of operations and fund management. Eiseman is responsible for oversight of the asset management department including leasing and disposition of properties, portfolio operations and property management functions. Eiseman was a senior vice president of asset management for Gramercy Property Trust’s office portfolio from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, he was the national office leasing director of Gramercy’s predecessor Gramercy Capital from 2008 to 2016. Before his roles at Gramercy, Eiseman was a managing director of leasing and sales for American Financial Realty Trust from 2004 to 2008, and a vice president at Jones Lang Lasalle from 1998 to 2004.
Cushman & Wakefield – JLL’s Angus Currie is joining the commercial real estate services company. Currie joins the firm as an international partner in its London occupier representation team. At JLL, Currie was head of South East England tenant representation. He first joined JLL as a graduate in 2001. Currie will start work at Cushman in spring.
Grosvenor Group – Matthew Barzun, a former US Ambassador to the UK, has joined the property group as a non-executive director. Barzun will the group in March this year. Barzun is chairman of Tortoise Media, a London-based news organisation. He was a US Ambassador to the UK between 2013 and 2017 and to Sweden between 2009 and 2011. In 2008 he joined Barack Obama’s national finance committee.
Newcore Capital Management – The alternative real estate investment manager has promoted Neil Sarkhel, a principal of the company, to director of funds and new business. Sarkhel joined Newcore in 2016 in the investment management division. He will be responsible for the co-ordination of Newcore’s funds, raising new capital and investor relations. Sarkhel will also join Newcore’s executive management committee. Before joining Newcore he worked in a variety of transactional and analytical roles for Brockton Capital and Goldman Sachs. Newcore has also hired Harry Smart from BNP Paribas Real Estate as investment manager. Smart will work on Newcore’s fourth fund. Newcore has also promoted Jonathan Scriven, who joined the company in October 2017, to associate director in the investment management team and Priya Patel to management accountant.
Franklin Templeton Investments – George Szemere has been appointed head of alternative sales for the EMEA region, responsible for distribution of the US asset manager’s real estate, infrastructure, private equity, hedge, commodities and venture capital offerings.He joins from Columbia Threadneedle where he was most recently head of liquid alternatives and global strategic relations for EMEA. He has also worked for ABN Amro Asset Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
Trammell Crow Company – Mike Nelson, Craig Dobbs and Mark Netherland have been promoted to managing directors. The team previously served as principals. Principal Tom Woodworth will retire at the end of March at which time Mike Nelson will also assume the role as business unit leader for the commercial property developer’s Seattle office. Dobbs and Netherland joined the company in 2012 and Woodworth in 2013, to re-establish the company’s Seattle office. In their new roles, the directors will continue to focus on investment opportunities as well as office, industrial and multifamily development.
Thor Equities Group – The urban real estate developer has promoted Toby Cooper and Luke Condon to managing director. Cooper was most recently executive director for European investments. Previously, he was a portfolio fund manager at DTZ Investors. Condon was also previously executive director for European investments. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Knight Frank.
Collyer Bristow – Simon Edwards has been appointment senior commercial real estate lawyer. Edwards joins the law firm as a partner.
Delin Capital Asset Management – Tijs Derison has been appointed as managing director for the logistics investor’s Benelux business. Derison joins Delin from UK REIT Segro, where he was head of Benelux. Prior to this, he worked at a number of national and international real estate investment and asset managers, including Hansteen Holdings and FGH Asset Management.
