Blackstone – Current COO Wesley LePatner will become Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust’s CEO as of 1 January 2025. She will succeed Frank Cohen, who, after nearly thirty years, plans to retire from Blackstone at year-end. Cohen will remain chairman of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust’s board of directors. LePatner joined Blackstone in 2014 to spearhead the creation of the core-plus business, including the launch of the US, Europe and Asiaa open-ended core-plus strategies. Prior to joining Blackstone, LePatner spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs. Since joining Blackstone in 1996, Cohen has held a number of leadership positions in Blackstone Real Estate, including overseeing Americas acquisitions, global head of core-plus real estate and chairman and CEO of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust.
PensionDanmark - Marius Møller, real estate director at the Danish labour-market pension fund, is to step down within the next 12 months after more than eight years heading up its property investment. Møller joined PensionDanmark at the beginning of 2016, after the pension fund had sold off its entire housing portfolio in 2014. Under his leadership, the pension fund subsequently built up an internal property department. He is set to leave his role by 1 September 2025 at the latest.
CBRE Investment Management — Alexandra Hayate has joined the firm as senior director, client solutions, with coverage of France, Israel, Spain and Portugal. In this role she will have responsibility for working with existing and prospective investors in these markets to deliver insights and investment solutions across direct and indirect real estate and infrastructure, as well as listed real assets. Hayate will be based in the firm’s London office. Prior to joining CBRE IM, Hayate spent seven years at Brookfield Asset Management in London as a VP in the private funds group on the fundraising/investor relations team. At Brookfield, Hayate served as the client relationship manager. Earlier in her career, she held roles at Partners Group and Commerzbank in London and similar roles at PAI Partners and Rothschild in Paris.
CTP – The listed European logistics real estate manager has appointed Karel Stransky as its new group business development director. Stransky began his career in urban and environmental planning and construction before moving to Colliers where he headed up the company’s corporate industrial advisory hub, responsible for the group’s I&L real estate activities.
CBRE – Nicolas Brandebourger has been appointed executive director in the firm’s European debt and structured finance team. Brandebourger joins from Rothesay, where he was head of CRE origination for UK & Europe for the last three years. Prior to this, Brandebourger spent 11 years with Wells Fargo where he was responsible for originating senior debt for large institutional clients and listed companies.
Naked Energy – Chris Strange has been appointed partnership business development lead. Strange has over 20 years of experience in the energy efficiency and decarbonisation sector, and has previously held senior positions at Honeywell, Schneider Electric, and Engie. Before joining Naked Energy, he spent six years as the decarbonisation director at Mitie Energy.
Cushman & Wakefield – Aubrie Monahan has joind the real estate services firm’s US industrial capital markets team in the West Region as a director, Monahan will be based in the firm’s Orange County office in Irvine, California. Monahan joins from JLL.
