PGIM Real Estate – Thomas Kallenbrunnen has joined the firm’s $13bn European platform. Kallenbrunnen has been hired as senior portfolio manager for European core strategy. Previously, Kallenbrunnen was general manager at Helaba Invest, where he led the real estate and alternative investment business since its inception in 2012. Earlier, Kallenbrunnen was head of real estate portfolio management at VersAM Versicherungs Asset Management and a senior manager at PwC.
AXA Investment Managers - Real Assets – The €79bn real assets manager has appointed Thomas Karmann as head of its €1.9bn logistics portfolio. He joins from Prologis, where he was managing director and region head for northern Europe. Previous roles include senior vice president of European operations for Gazeley Properties, deputy managing director for Germany and central Europe at GSE and commercial director for industrial and logistics at Bouygues.
Invesco Real Estate – David Kellett has been appointed senior director to head hotel transactions. Prior to joining Invesco, Kellett held various management positions at InterContinental Hotels Group, including as head of investor relations and most recently as head of development for Europe. Prior to joining InterContinental Kellett worked in investment banking at JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch.
Mayfair Capital – The UK real estate investment manager has appointed Shahad Alani-Stevens and Daniel White to its international business development team. Alani-Stevens joins from the capital advisory team at Greenhill & Co. in London, where she advised a number of US and European real estate private equity funds on their fund-raisings. Prior to that, she was a member of the European investor relations and capital raising team at Ares Management. White recently completed the RBS graduate programme which involved stints in the Coutts wealth management platform, the NatWest entrepreneurship team and Lombard Asset Finance.
CBRE – Alan Li has been appointed to a newly created role of president of CBRE China. Li joined the commercial property services and investment firm in 2015, as managing director of capital markets for Greater China. In his new role, he will be responsible for CBRE advisory services across business lines in China, including advisory and transaction services, capital markets, asset services, and valuation and advisory services.
Portsmouth Water – Bob Taylor has been appointed CEO. He joined Portsmouth Water as an engineering director on this month from South West Water where he was operations director for drinking water services. Taylor was the managing director of Bournemouth Water, prior to its acquisition by South West Water in 2015. Neville Smith, Portsmouth Water’s managing director, will retire on 4 January 2019 after over 20 years of service with the company, the last 7 as Managing Director.
LendInvest – The UK online property finance marketplace has promoted Jonathan Gomez to the role of treasurer and hired Allister Keller, Taher Miah, Robin Parker and Victor Pichon to its capital markets and treasury team. Gomez joined LendInvest as capital markets director in 2015. Keller joins the treasury team from Charter Court Financial Services. He is responsible for portfolio reporting and analysis and hedging. Miah joins from Deloitte, where he worked on analytics and the modeling of securitisation transactions. Prior to this, he was at IHS Markit where he was responsible for valuations. Parker joins from Orbit Housing. In his new role, Parker will draw on his extensive experience in asset-backed funding and securitisation. Pichon joins from fintech lender Prodigy Finance. Prior to this, he was at Standard & Poor’s where he was responsible for the ratings of residential mortgage backed Securities.
CenterSquare – Kevin Maxwell has joined the global real assets manager as managing director and head of capital markets. Maxwell joins the newly created role from the firm’s existing capital markets team. He will focus on leading business development efforts across the firm’s private real estate, listed real estate, and listed infrastructure investment strategies. Prior to joining CenterSquare, Maxwell was with Nuveen, a TIAA company, where he held the position of managing director of advisory services and led real asset marketing in the Eastern US. Prior to Nuveen, Maxwell held a leadership position in the marketing group at LaSalle Investment Management.
GLP – Graeme Eadie, the former global head of real assets at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, has joined GLP’s newly created fund management board. The board is chaired by former GLP chairman Seek Ngee Huat who will be joined by Eadie and Richard Levin. Seek is currently chairman of the Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies at the National University of Singapore where he is also practice professor of real estate. He is also a senior advisor to Frasers Property and CPPIB. Eadie is currently a senior advisor to CPPIB, where he spent 13 years in various senior positions including as senior managing director and global head of real assets until March this year. Levin was president of Yale University from 1993 to 2013. He currently serves as a director of American Express and C3 IoT and acts as an advisor to Temasek, TPG and Coursera, where he was previously CEO.
