Kadans Science Partner – Steijn Ribbens has been promoted to CEO. Ribbens takes over from Michel Leemhuis who moves to the newly created role of executive chair management committee. Ribbens is taking on the management of all day-to-day operating matters, in addition to the responsibilities of his current role as CIO. Ribbens has been with the business for ten years, having joined in 2015 following a career in investment banking, during which time he has led Kadans’ international expansion. Leemhuis, who joined the firm in 2005, has been instrumental in firmly establishing Kadans as the European market leader. He will now focus primarily on continuing to drive growth and managing key ecosystem stakeholders including occupiers, partners, educational establishments such as universities, as well as government and trade bodies.
Nido Living – Rafael Fernández-Ladreda has been appointed to the newly created chief integration officer role. Fernández-Ladreda will lead the integration of Nido Living and recently acquired Livensa Living. Fernández-Ladreda will support Nido’s business strategy, ensuring people, systems and processes are integrated and optimised for driving future success of the platform. Fernández-Ladreda’s background as a strategy consulting partner, private-equity managing director, and CEO in industrial businesses reflects a unique combination of analytical depth and hands-on execution. Over the past decade, he has delivered fast, measurable profitability improvements and led value-creation programmes across Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
Measurabl – Mike Zatz has been appointed senior vice president of global data ecosystem and partnerships. For the last 19 years, Zatz led the US EPA’s Energy Star portfolio manager programme. He will now engage partners to create a global platform, built around Measurabl’s Free Solution, which will provide trusted sustainability data accessible to the entire real estate ecosystem. At Measurabl, Zatz will take his impact global. In his new role, Zatz will advance Measurabl’s vision of a consistent global data ecosystem by connecting and convening owners, managers, lenders, investors, policymakers, NGOs, nonprofits, and solution providers.
LNL Capital – The net lease real estate strategy of Leste Group has appointed Todd Stender managing director, supporting capital formation and investor relations initiatives. Stender was previously a senior director at Irvine Company, and a managing director at Wells Fargo Securities where he led the net lease equity REIT research team. Mac Johnson also recently joined LNL Capital as a senior associate, underwriting new investments. Previously, Johnson was an underwriter at Spirit Realty Capital, a Dallas-based REIT acquired by Realty Income in 2024. Before that, he was a commercial real estate credit analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Stender and Johnson work closely with ElmTree alumni Andrew Truetzel, who joined LNL Capital as a Director in 2024.
Adair – Amit Oberoi has been appointed chairman, bringing over 25 years of experience leading major transformation programmes and advising organisations across the construction, infrastructure and real estate sectors. Oberoi’s career spans Europe, the Middle East, and APAC, where he has delivered complex developments valued in the billions.
BW ESS – Stefano Venier and Georg Müller have joined the firm’s board of directors. Venier is the former CEO of SNAM and Hera. Müller previously served as CEO of MVV Energie.
Derby Lane Partners – Adam Piekarski has launched the investment management firm, initially focused on commercial real estate credit opportunities across North America. Piekarski serves as CEO and CIO, having previously co-founded and led the real estate credit investment team at BDT & MSD Partners. He is joined by senior members, including Kory Klebanoff as partner, who was previously co-head of East Coast originations at Acore Capital; and Urian Yap as partner and CFO, who was previously CFO of Madison Realty Capital. Matt Doneth, who has joined the investment team as a managing director, previously worked at Apollo Global Management. His colleague on the investment team is managing director Heecheol Pak, who joins from Blackstone.
Visio Financial Services – The US rental property lender has appointed Michele Kryczkowski as COO. Kryczkowski will lead multi-state operations, loan fulfillment, and customer experience initiatives designed to optimise scalability and deliver best-in-class service to retail and wholesale lending clients nationwide. Before joining Visio, she led end-to-end mortgage operations across multiple channels at Citibank. She also held senior leadership positions at Planet Home Lending, First Guaranty Mortgage, Pacific Union Financial and MetLife Home Loans.
Cushman & Wakefield — Conal Newland joins as international director, head of living, Asia Pacific. Newland will drive the regional platform’s growth in cornerstone living markets including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong China and across asset classes including multifamily, student sousing, co-living and seniors accommodation. He will also work closely with his counterparts in EMEA and the Americas to ensure global consistency in service standards and delivery for the firm’s multinational client base. Josh Rose-Nokes joins as director, living research, Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Rose-Nokes worked in research and consultancy roles for various commercial real estate firms in the living space, and held a non-executive chairman role for a UK housing association.
AXA IM Alts – The asset manager’s global co-heads of real estate are to oversee the investment management business of BNP Paribas Real Estate ahead of the planned merger between both parent companies. On an interim basis, Timothée Rauly and John O’Driscoll will assume the responsibilities of the global head of investment management, a role currently held by Jean-Maxime Jouis. Jouis will become deputy CEO of BNP Paribas Real Estate, with responsibility for supervising the advisory and property management business lines. He will report to Thierry Laroue-Pont, CEO of BNP Paribas Real Estate. In the UK, Mark England, previously chief operating officer, has been appointed CEO of BNP Paribas Real Estate UK. He succeeds Etienne Prongue, who becomes head of the international investment group at BNP Paribas Real Estate.
