Quantum Capital – The provider of capital to the global energy and energy transition industry has appointed David Altshuler as partner and co-head of client solutions. In this role, he will drive capital formation initiatives as well as identify and implement long-term investor engagement, education and capital raising strategies across the firm. Altshuler joins from IFM Investors, where he served as head of global client solutions in North America. Previously, Altshuler was the founding partner of StepStone Infrastructure and Real Assets within StepStone Group. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Meketa Investment Group and Nuveen Investments.
La Française Real Estate Managers – Guillaume Gentina has been appointed head of European assets. Gentina joins the asset management division of the commercial property department of La Française. Prior to joining La Française REM, Gentina was associate director of DTZ Investors France, where he managed a commercial real estate portfolio and led the implementation of an energy consumption reduction programme for almost thirteen years. In 2001, Gentina joined General Electric Medical Systems, first as finance manager, then as financial planner and analyst manager. In 2005, he was named senior financial planner of General Electric Real Estate. After two years, Gentina joined DTZ Investors as client relationship and investment manager. He was later promoted to deputy finance manager of DTZ Investors France.
Antin Infrastructure Partners – Mélanie Biessy, Stéphane Ifker, Angelika Schöchlin and Kevin Genieser have been promoted to managing partner. Antin co-founder Mark Crosbie has stepped down from certain executive functions to dedicate more time to family and private interests. Crosbie will continue to focus on Antin’s investment activity as co-chairman of the investment committee. He resigns from his role as deputy CEO and remains vice chairman of the board of directors and a substantial long-term committed shareholder. Simon Söder has been promoted to senior partner and head of the London office. Biessy has been with Antin since the inception of the firm. She is COO, member of the executive committee, member of the investment committee and member of the board of directors. Ifker has been with Antin since inception of the firm. He is a member of the executive committee and member of the investment committee. He is global sponsor for all investment strategies and a board member of several Antin portfolio companies. Prior to joining Antin, Ifker spent most of his career at Rothschild. Schöchlin joined Antin in 2010. She is a member of the executive committee and member of the investment committee. She is global sponsor for all investment strategies and a board member of several Antin portfolio companies. Prior to joining Antin, she worked at Terra Firma and at Goldman Sachs. Genieser joined Antin in 2017. He is a member of the executive committee and member of the investment committee. He is head of the New York office. He is a board member of several Antin portfolio companies. Prior to joining Antin, Genieser spent most of his career at Morgan Stanley. Söder joined Antin in 2014. He is a board member of several Antin portfolio companies. Prior to joining Antin, he worked at Macquarie, Westpac and Lacima Group.
Apache Capital – Duncan Williams, previously head of land and planning at Present Made, has been promoted to acquisitions director. His new role will see him work with Present Made’s managing director Alan Penfold to establish joint venture partnerships with quality housebuilders and SME developers and identify forward funding opportunities as part of Present Made’s expanded strategy. Emma Giannini, previously associate director, has been promoted to senior associate director – transactions and structuring, at Apache Capital. Her role has been expanded to include a greater focus on Present Made. Nikki King, previously associate director, who has been promoted to ESG and operations director at Apache Capital. Her updated role will see her focus increase on Present Made and the platform’s third-party delivery partners.
Clarion Partners – Philippe Lapointe has joined the firm as managing director and assistant portfolio manager for Clarion’s open-end multifamily fund, sharing in management responsibilities for the fund and contributing to the firm’s overarching housing strategy. Prior to joining Clarion, Lapointe served as president of publicly traded Canada-based H&R REIT where he founded and built its US subsidiary Lantower Residential.
Birchwood Real Estate Capital – The real estate lending business has appointed Libby Thelwall as director. Thelwall began her career at UBS Asset Management and went on to be a director at Legal & General focusing on UK and European real estate debt origination and execution for six years.
Maslow Capital – Nada Jarnaz has been appointed an originator within the real estate finance company’s deal origination team. Jarnaz transitions from a 20-year career in the banking legal sector where she most recently held the position of head of banking at law firm Howard Kennedy.
Sidley Austin – Greg Lavigne has joined as a partner in the firm’s energy, transportation, and infrastructure group. He joins Sidley from Allen & Overy. Lavigne advises private capital providers and major sponsors in the full spectrum of transactions, including tax equity, private equity, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and structured finance transactions. His extensive experience also includes transactions involving recycling facilities, electric vehicles, distributed energy resources, and clean fuels.
