HSBC Asset Management – Victoria Sharpe has been appointed head of real assets. Sharpe will be responsible for the strategic development and management of the real assets proposition. She will assume the role from Joanna Munro, who has been acting head of real assets, in addition to her role as CEO, HSBC alternatives. Sharpe joined in 2021 as head of and CIO real estate, Asia-Pacific and will retain these responsibilities in her expanded role, which she will begin this month, based in Singapore and reporting into Munro. Prior to joining HSBC, Sharpe was responsible for building and leading the Asia Pacific Real Estate business for DWS. Before DWS, she spent 16 years with PGIMScott McClurg has been appointed head of private credit for HSBC’s alternatives arm. In this newly created position, McClurg will be based in London and have responsiblity for the strategic development and management of the private credit business, which encompasses direct lending and infrastructure debt. McClurg joined HSBC in 2010 and has held various senior positions in commercial banking. He is currently head of leverage finance UK, middle market financial sponsors.

Igneo Infrastructure PartnersMichael Ryder has been appointed partner and co-head of the firm’s North American business. Ryder will join John Ma in spearheading Igneo’s growth and expansion plans in the region. He was previously a senior managing director and head of Americas at OMERS Infrastructure, and a senior member of its executive management committee. He also recently served as a senior adviser to Investcorp and previously held senior leadership and investment committee positions at Blackstone and Morgan Stanley. In addition to hiring Ryder, Igneo plans to double the size of its North American investment team by the end of this year.

Arjun Infrastructure Partners – Rhyadd Keaney-Watkins has been appointed as head of ESG. Keaney-Watkins has nearly two decades of ESG consulting experience working with development finance clients such as the International Finance Corporation on infrastructure transactions across developed and emerging markets. In addition, he worked with asset managers in the real estate and infrastructure sectors in relation to ESG strategy and implementation. At Arjun, he will work closely with the investment and asset management teams, ensuring ESG integration across the asset manager’s operations.

PGIM Real EstateJoanna Mulford has been appointed senior portfolio manager for the firm’s flagship core equity fund in the US. Mulford has worked as a portfolio manager on PGIM Real Estate’s US core equity fund for 14 years and has more than 30 years of experience at the company. During her tenure, she has held a range of roles across portfolio management, asset management and transactions. As a portfolio manager on the firm’s US core equity fund, Mulford has been involved in all aspects of managing the fund, including portfolio strategy, investment decision-making, and management of the investment team.

Patrizia – The manager’s infrastructure arm has created a new operating partner model for its Europe and North America infrastructure equity team, along with the introduction of a newly created role of head of sustainable transformation. Wessel Schevernels, who has moved internally, and Jean-François Willame, who joins from Cube Infrastructure, have been appointed full-time operating partners. Aaron Scott has been appointed as head of sustainable transformation, moving internally from his previous role as Patrizia’s head of strategy and sustainability. The operating partners will play a key role in accelerating the growth of portfolio companies and serve as a liaison point with the investment team. Schevernels will focus on economic infrastructure assets, bringing his extensive international corporate experience in energy, logistics and social infrastructure. He moves   from his previous role in Patrizia infrastructure as a senior director in the Europe and North America equity team. Willame will work across digital infrastructure assets, providing a wealth of knowledge and 20 years of experience at c-suite level within the large telecom firm, Proximus Group, and three years within the assets management industry. Scott will provide hands-on expertise to attain positive sustainable outcomes across Patrizia infrastructure’s portfolio.

Constellation Cold Logistics – The European cold storage and logistics company has appointed Carlos Rodriguez as CEO. Rodriguez will provide strategic leadership and oversee all aspects of the company, including cold storage buy-and-build, network development, integration and large-scale solutions. Prior to joining Constellation, Rodriguez served as co-founder and CEO of AGRO Merchants and board member of the IARW. Before building and integrating AGRO Merchants, Rodriguez was a member of the Americold executive team with responsibility for solutions, engineering, planning and development. Previous positions also included global functional responsibility in the automotive and high-tech logistics sectors. 

MitheridgeSteve Emsley has been appointed CFO and partner. Emsley joins from DRC Savills Investment Management, where he was CFO – a position in which he was responsible for the structuring and operation of all funds during a period of significant growth, which led to the eventual sale, which he oversaw, of the DRC Capital business to Savills Investment Management in 2021. Earlier in his career, Emsley held positions at both Lumina Real Estate Capital and Hermes Real Estate Investment Management.

DWSAdriano Sbroscia has joined the European infrastructure debt team as an investment associate. Sbroscia joins from Sequoia Investment Management where he worked as a senior analyst in the investments team. Prior to Sequoia, Sbroscia worked at Moody’s investors services within the project finance team responsible for assisting on new mandated ratings and monitoring a portfolio of assets.

OMERS Infrastructure – Irini Kalamakis, an executive director and head of EMEA global relationship at IFM Investors, has joined OMERS Infrastructure to help drive expand the firm’s global third-party capital programme. Kalamakis has been appointed senior managing director and global head of the strategic partnerships programme. Based in London, Kalamakis will join OMERS Infrastructure’s global management committee and report to Annesley Wallace, the global head of infrastructure. Kalamakis joins OMERS Infrastructure from IFM Investors in London, where she was head of EMEA for the global relationship group and global head of investor relations. Prior to joining IFM Investors in late 2017, she held senior roles at Hastings Funds Management, and was a corporate attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in London and New York.

Arrow Capital PartnersMartijn Adelaar has been appointed senior asset manager in the Benelux team. Adelaar will be based in the Amsterdam office and will work with the rest of the team to manage Arrow’s growing portfolio of logistics development projects and properties in the Benelux. Prior to joining Arrow, he was an asset manager at Blackstone’s last-mile logistics platform Mileway. Among his previous roles, Adelaar was also an asset manager at M7 Real Estate and at Annexum.

GARBE Institutional CapitalNikolaos Thomas has been appointed head of fund operations. In this newly created position, he will be responsible for the operational fund management of the company’s pan-European platform. Thomas will work with Garbe’s institutional clients and serve as a touch point to alternative investment fund managers. Thomas joins from Helaba Invest where he worked in various positions since 2014. Most recently, he served as director investment services real assets.

CBRE Investment Management –  Justine Weber Bret has been appointed as director of transactions and asset management logistics in the Nordics. Joining from NCAP in Sweden, where, as investment director, Bret was responsible for sourcing and acquiring real estate in Sweden on behalf of international investors through all sectors and risk/return profiles. Prior to this, she worked at Steen & Ström as asset management leader in Sweden. In Bret’s early career she spent six years with CBRE IM in fund management and transaction roles. In her new role at CBRE IM based in Stockholm, she will report directly to Laurie Lagarde, head of EMEA logistics operator division, where she will source, acquire and manage logistics and industrial assets.  

New ForestsBruce King has been appointed director of agriculture at New Agriculture, a newly created agriculture unit. New Forests has made three other appointments – Ben Mason, portfolio manager; Ben Pickles, manager, operations, alongside existing team member Jamie Lord, manager, investments – to run the new unit. King, until recently, was CEO of Regional Investment Corporation in Australia. Before that, he was an investment manager for Blue Sky Alternative Investments and spent 13 years at Rabobank International. Mason was most recently at Roc Partners as vice-president of agriculture. He was previously an associate director at PwC. Pickles was recruited from Kilcoy Global Foods, where he was finance business partner – operations and investments. Previously he spent time with some of Australia’s largest land and water holders, including Hassad Australia and MSF Sugar. Lord joined New Forests in 2013, after an almost 20-year career in agricultural investment. At New Forests, Lord has been managing the operations and growth of the manager’s existing portfolio of agricultural assets.

Delin PropertyMaurits Olde Meule has been appointed as portfolio manager for its Dutch logistics fund with responsibility for the execution of business plans for each of its assets. He has more than a decade of experience in asset and portfolio management, joining from Catella IM Benelux, where he was MD and director of asset management. Elmer Blom joins as development manager to oversee projects including Gilze, in the south of the Netherlands, as well as Delin Property’s logistics park in East Madrid, Spain, and Switch Wakefield in Northern England. He has spent more than 15 years overseeing developments across different real estate sectors and joins the group from Coop Supermarkten in the Netherlands. Daniël Piris has been recruited as a property manager to build on Delin’s existing in-house capabilities with a track record in optimising asset performance. Piris previously led the management of CBRE IM’s portfolio at Cushman & Wakefield NL and has been working in construction and property management since 1995.
