AMP Capital – The investment manager has appointed Thomas Preising senior adviser to its infrastructure equity business. Preising was most recently the global business operations director for Apple. Before joining Apple in 2004, Preising had worked at Hewlett Packard for a decade. He began his career in infrastructure, working at US rail business Conrail and as an infrastructure Project Associate at McKinsey.
KKR – Waldemar Szlezak joined the investment firm’s infrastructure team as managing director this year. Szlezak leads KKR’s communications infrastructure investments in the Americas, among other sectors. Prior to joining KKR, Szlezak was a senior managing director in the private equity group of Soros Fund Management. Before that, he served as an associate at Soros Private Equity Investors/TowerBrook Capital Partners and prior to that, in the mergers and acquisition investment banking group at Credit Suisse First Boston.
Atrato Capital – The investment adviser to Supermarket Income REIT, has appointed Justin King, the former CEO Sainsbury’s, as a senior adviser. King led the supermarket chain for 10 years until 2014. Prior to that, he was part of the leadership team at Marks & Spencer and previously held senior roles at Asda.
Sares Regis Group – Sheri Druckman has been appointed vice president of business development to expand the real estate manager’s multifamily business in the Pacific Northwest. Druckman previously served as director of real estate at Greystar. Before joining Greystar, she held senior management roles with Security Properties, Simpson Property Group and Trammell Crow Residential Services. She is the immediate past president of the Washington Multi-Family Housing Association and serves on the group’s executive board of directors.
Avignon Capital – The European property manager has appointed Elmar Schilling as an asset management consultant. Based in Germany, Schilling will work with Avignon’s asset management team on Avignon’s existing German portfolio and future acquisitions. Schilling has over 30 years of experience, 15 of those years working for real estate investors across Germany. Prior to working in real estate, he worked in management consulting, M&A and transaction services with subsidiaries of Deutsche Bank and HVB/Uni Credit.
Orchard Street Investment Management – The specialist commercial property investment manager has appointed Dawn Marie La Monica to the position of head of compliance and risk. She joins from credit asset management and debt advisory firm Cairn Capital where she worked for several years as compliance officer.
ICG-Longbow – The real estate business of Intermediate Capital Group has appointed Simon Gordon to the senior debt team as manager. Gordon joins from the real estate finance team of Westpac in Auckland, where his responsibilities included origination, deal underwriting and execution. In his new role, Gordon will work across ICG-Longbow’s private and listed senior debt funds, focusing on underwriting secure real estate loans in the mid-market and UK regions.
Malcolm Hollis – Sai Teja Koneru and Emilio Larrodera Baca have joined the independent commercial building consultancy firm’s Berlin office. Koneru is a project manager. She has experience working with companies such as JLL and Cushman Wakefield. Larrodera Baca joins from WSP.
Kennedy Wilson – The real estate investment firm’s European arm has promoted Mike Pegler to lead its UK business. In the newly created role, Pegler will be responsible for all UK acquisitions and asset management, as well as supporting the firm’s capital raising efforts. Prior to his promotion, Pegler served as head of European asset management (ex Ireland) and will continue to have overall oversight of this aspect of the business. He joined Kennedy Wilson Europe in October 2015. Prior to joining Kennedy Wilson Europe, Pegler spent 10 years at Blackstone and, before that, he worked at Deloitte.
Corestate Capital – The European real estate investment manager has appointed Lars Schnidrig its new CEO and Chairman of the management board for four years. The former CFO has held the functions of CEO and chairman of the management board on an interim basis since 31 December 2018. The management contract of co-founder Thomas Landschreiber as CIO has also extended for another three years. Jonathan Lurie has joined the supervisory board. Lurie is currently senior advisor, real estate, at McKinsey & Company and managing partner at Realty Corporation. Before that, he worked as managing director, real estate asset management at Blackstone, as head of real estate investment management Europe at Goldman Sachs and as director at Tishman Speyer in London and New York.
