Stafford Capital Partners – Former IFM Investors CEO Brett Himbury has the private markets investment and advisory firm as senior adviser. In this newly created role, Himbury will provide strategic advice and support to Stafford as it further expands its range of real assets and private equity solutions. Himbury spent more than a decade with IFM Investors. Based in Sydney, Himbury will work closely with Stafford’s chairman and co-founder, Geoff Norman and CEO, Angus Whiteley, as well as the wider leadership team.
Barings – Kristina Arsenievich has been appointed director of European real estate ESG, to lead and enhance its ESG programme across the equity and debt portfolios. Arsenievich brings over 10 years of experience in sustainability leadership and a strong track record of delivering impactful ESG strategies, driving innovation, and unlocking the potential of value chains.
CBRE Global Investors – Helen Gurfel has been appointed head of global sustainability and innovation. In the newly created role, Gurfel will work closely with teams across the global business on sustainability and innovation-related matters, ranging from product architecture and capital-raising initiatives to asset-level strategies and solutions. Gurfel also is a member of CBRE Global Investors’ executive committee. Prior to joining CBRE Global Investors, Gurfel was a managing director for LENX, Lennar Corporation’s venture group, where she helped develop the firm’s venture capital investment strategy. Prior to that, she ran the Urban Land Institute Greenprint Center for Building Performance. She started her career at PwC before going to GE Capital where she established GE Real Estate’s global ESG vision and strategy and advised the firm’s energy venture capital group on prospective investments.
BentallGreenOak – Julien Bernheim has been appointed principal to join it its Paris office. Bernheim was previously at Invesco Real Estate, where he was responsible for acquisitions and disposals for the firm in France. Bernheim began his career at Compagnie La Lucette in 2007, then joined MGPA (eventually acquired by BlackRock) in 2008.
CBRE – Brian Russell has joined CBRE’s capital markets as an executive vice president in Southern California. Russell, who will focus on office and life sciences investment sales in San Diego and Orange County, complements CBRE’s existing team of institutional capital markets professionals in Southern California. Russell joins from Eastdil Secured, where he was a managing director. Leanne Keyte has been appointed senior director in the debt and structured finance team. Keyte joins from Shoosmiths where she was Legal Director in the banking and finance team, primarily focused on Real Estate Finance. Prior to that, she spent 17 years as a senior director in the transaction management team in the real estate finance department at The Royal Bank of Scotland. In her new role, Keyte will use her strong track record and market knowledge to drive transaction management and efficiency within CBRE’s debt and structured finance team, particularly in the delivery of complex transactions.
Patrizia – Katsumi Nakamoto has been appointed as new president and representative director of Patrizia Japan KK. He was previously the president and CEO of Diamond Realty Management. Before becoming president and CEO of Diamond Realty, he held various management positions at Mitsubishi Corporation including head of ASEAN/China real estate development department, and president/CEO of DiamoNuveennd Realty Investments in the US. In the early 2000s, he was head of acquisition at Mitsubishi Corp-UBS Realty.
Cromwell Property – The real estate investor and manager has appointed Eeva Saravuo as fund manager of a pan-European wooden building property fund being established in partnership with Finland-based sustainable real asset manager Dasos Capital. Bringing more than 20 years’ experience from various roles at Aberdeen Standard Investments, latterly as fund manager for Aberdeen’s Finnish and Nordic funds, as well as deputy fund manager for an open-ended real estate fund investing in continental Europe, Saravuo will manage the new European wooden building property fund on behalf of Dasos and Cromwell.
Morrison & Co – The asset manager has appointed Paul Newfield CEO to replace Marko Bogoievski who will be stepping down at the end of the year following a 13-year tenure. Newfield, the current head of Australia and New Zealand, will take over from Bogoievski on 1 January 2022. Bogoievski will continue as operating partner, providing guidance for investments in telecommunications and digital infrastructure.
Sera Global – Maria Kang and Stephane Marguier have joined the real assets advisor to help drive the continued expansion of the firm’s infrastructure private capital advisory business in North America and EMEA, respectively. Marguier will lead Sera’s infrastructure private capital advisory practice in the EMEA region and will be based in Paris, France where Sera will be opening a new office to better support its clients and investors. He brings more than 20 years of international experience in capital raising and capital formation in the real assets space. Prior to joining Sera, he was a senior managing director at Nuveen, where he held different executive positions in New York and London. He was previously head of EMEA at GE AM, leading the firm’s capital raising activity. Kang brings almost two decades of experience in infrastructure advisory services to Sera and will be based in New York. Kang joins Sera from Rubicon Capital Advisors where she served as managing director and focused on identifying key investor relationships and executing infrastructure projects in North America. As a senior member of the infrastructure private capital advisory North American business, Kang will be responsible for providing private capital advisory services to infrastructure sponsors, operators, and investors on a broad range of transactions for the investment banking and private capital advisory businesses within Sera’s Infrastructure platform.
Cushman & Wakefield – The global real estate services firm has appointed Adam Lowe to drive its dedicated primary care service within the firm’s UK healthcare team. Lowe joins following more than a decade at Assura, the specialist UK real estate investment trust. Lowe’s focus will be on transactional and development across health and social care. He will be based in the firm’s North West regional hub office in Manchester.
Civitas Investment Management – The impact investor specialising in government-backed community specialist healthcare and social housing real estate assets has appointed Dipesh Devchand, as group CFO. Devchand most recent role was at Intermediate Capital Group as head of fund finance and operations overseeing private capital funds. Prior to Intermediate Capital, he served as European finance director for Apollo Global Management for 8 years, where he was responsible for their pan European corporate finance operations.
Colliers – Ramesh Nair has joined the commercial real estate services firm as India CEO and managing director, market development, Asia. Based in Mumbai, Nair will be responsible for expanding the business beyond the boundaries of India, and developing services, expanding client relationships, and attracting talented professionals to the company. He was previously CEO and country head of JLL India. At JLL over more than two decades, he worked across diverse asset classes and markets, advising leading domestic and multinational owners, investors, and occupiers.
KGAL Group – Susanne Marttila has been appointed ESG Officer. Marttila was most recently regional head EMEA, ESG ratings at Institutional Shareholder Services.
