DWS – Peter Brodehser has joined the manager’s infrastructure investment team. Brodehser, most recently head of infrastructure investments at Talanx subsidiary Ampega, will build up and lead an infrastructure investment team based in Frankfurt as DWS expands and strengthens its activities in Germany and on the European continent. The German team will focus on investments in the field of renewable energies and other investments in infrastructure utility services. Before joining Talanx, he worked for HSH Nordbank, Helaba and PWC in Germany, New York, and Singapore. He is also a board member of the German Alternative Investments Association. Katharina Thomas has joined DWS, reporting in to Brodehser as part of his management team. Thomas was most recently head of portfolio management responsible for asset management in the infrastructure investment division of Talanx subsidiary Ampega, where she reported to Brodehser. Thomas has more than 15 years of experience in infrastructure investments. Before joining Ampega, she worked in the infrastructure advisory division of PwC in Germany.
Aviva Investors – Edmond de Fels has been appointed as investment manager to expand Aviva Investors’ European real estate team. He joins from Ivanhoé Cambridge where he held various positions, most recently as director of investments. He has eight years’ experience in real estate investing. Based in Paris, he will manage real estate investments in the French market.
CBRE Investment Management – The global real assets investment management firm has appointed Henrik Skoog Nordics CFO. He will be responsible for all financial reporting processes and tax matters as well as external financings within the company on the corporate and property investment sides and will be the main financial contact person for fund and separate account teams. Skoog will be based in Stockholm, Sweden. He joins from Artmax AB, where as CFO he was responsible for reporting to the owner, legal compliance and all external financing which was negotiated in each jurisdiction. He also supported the CEO in all asset transactions when building up a diversified portfolio.
M7 Real Estate – The pan-European investor and asset manager specialising in multi-tenanted properties has strengthened its retail asset management capabilities with the appointment of Jean-Kévin Robillard as senior asset manager in France. Robillard joins from Scaprim where he spent the past six years as a director for retail investment and asset management. Robillard will be responsible for the asset management of M7’s retail assets and driving M7’s growth in the French market, especially in the retail sector, on behalf of its pan-European value add funds and separate account mandates. Prior to joining Scaprim, Robillard spent nine years at AEW Europe in the retail asset management team, where he progressed to associate director.
St Modwen – The Blackstone-owned UK property developer has appointed James Cooper to lead the firm’s logistics investment drive. The former Partner at InfraRed Capital Partners will head up a dedicated team focused on growth through investment in new opportunities. Cooper’s team will concentrate on acquiring high-quality, ready-let urban and big box logistics opportunities where St Modwen can utilise its development expertise to modernise and reposition older buildings and enhance their environmental performance. Cooper spent 21 years at InfraRed, leading the assembly of several value-add and core-plus funds.
Aviva Investors – Tim Russell has been appointed senior fund manager. Russell will oversee the asset manager’s unit-linked property funds. He joins Aviva Investors from Global Gate Capital where he spent the previous five years as a director, establishing the London office and leading its UK Real Estate team. Prior to Global Gate Capital, Russell spent eight years at Legal & General Investment Management working across fund and asset management of UK commercial real estate.
Gresham House Energy Storage Fund – Isabel Liu has been appointed independent non-executive director of the company. Liu will also serve on several of the company’s key sub-committees. Liu’s career investing equity in infrastructure worldwide includes billion-dollar private funds for AIG in Asia, ABN AMRO in Europe and pension schemes in the UK. She has served as a non-executive representing UK transport users. Liu is also a director of Schroder Oriental Income Fund and Utilico Emerging Markets Trust.
IPUT Real Estate – Annette Kröger has joined the Irish property company as a non-executive director. Kröger is CEO Europe of Allianz Real Estate and a member of its global executive committee. Prior to being appointed CEO Europe, Kröger was CEO of Allianz Real Estate North & Central Europe and previously CEO Allianz Real Estate Germany which she initially joined in 2009. Before joining Allianz, she worked for Goldman Sachs in the real estate division.
Cushman & Wakefield – Michael Carson has been appointed supply chain and logistics advisory lead in EMEA. Carson joins from Libra Europe Consulting where he was group commercial director. Prior to that he spent five and a half years at SIG where he was supply chain director for its exteriors division. At Cushman & Wakefield, Carson will provide strategic and operational supply chain advice to occupiers across the EMEA region. He will sit within the firm’s global occupier services business.
Précis Capital Partners – Ben Lynch has joined the real estate development lending platform’s credit team as senior credit director. Benoit Fesquet has joined as associate director. Lynch joins from Kinetic Capital, where he was director of credit. He previously worked as director, credit at Urban Exposure and has also held roles at Pluto Finance, OakNorth Bank, Santander, Clydesdale Bank and HSBC. Fesquet also joins from Kinetic Capital, where he worked as a senior associate. With over a decade of experience in real estate finance, he has previously held positions at Urban Exposure, CBRE and GE Real Estate.
Kingstone Real Estate – Simon Lieb has been appointed as an authorised signatory and team lead for residential transactions, to strengthen Kingstone real estate’s team. He joins from Industria Wohnen, where his responsibilities as transaction manager included the sourcing and acquisition of residential and commercial real estate in the new-build and existing property sectors. He also previously worked as a fund manager in the residential asset class at Aberdeen Standard Investments Deutschland, and in portfolio management at the former IVG Institutional Funds. In his new role, his work will be focused on the residential real estate and related uses.
Garbe Institutional Capital – Nadine Galandi and Dirk Scholl have been appointed as senior advisors to the Garbe institutional capital team. Galandi is currently senior director in the life sciences team at Capgemini Invest. She has previously served the life science and healthcare sector in various positions, including as director and head of digital solutions at Bode Chemie, a company of the Hartmann Group, and as a senior manager and director at Deloitte Consulting. Scholl is an independent consultant to companies and start-ups in the fields of life sciences and biotechnology, particularly laboratory and medical technology. Among his wide-ranging activities, he supports his clients in M&A processes, financial planning and acquisition due diligence. Scholl previously worked for eight years as commercial director of Dynamic Biosensors, a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich. Galandi and Scholl will support Garbe as expert advisors for the development of strategies and concepts for the company’s pan-European science and tech platform.
Amro Partners – The real estate company has appointed Thomas Bohnstedt as investment manager to lead a newly opened office in Amsterdam. Bohnstedt was previously head of underwriting at LRC Group and prior to that, he was an associate at Hudson Advisors.
Empira Group – Markus Königstein has joined the team in the newly created role of global head of investment management, driving forward the internationalisation of Empira’s investments in its key markets – Europe’s German-speaking countries – and in the US. Königstein has 28 years of relevant professional experience, most recently as head of real estate and infrastructure at R+V Insurance Group, where he had worked since 2003.
