Europa Capital – Andy Watson has joined as a partner to help push the firm’s €500m long-term income investment plan in pan-European real estate. Watson was formerly CIO for LaSalle Investment Management’s continental European business. He left LaSalle in 2016 after working for 12 years. He authored and published A Thousand Days in Berlin – Tales of Property Pioneering in 2017. Watson has been a consultant to Europa since January and will be based in Paris.
GCM Grosvenor – Matthew Rinklin has been hired as managing director. He joins from Oaktree Capital Management and will be responsible for executing GCM’s labour impact infrastructure investment strategy. Rinklin joined Oaktree in 2014 and recently served as senior vice president at Oaktree. Prior to that, he was vice president at Highstar Capital where he focused on investment opportunities in the energy, transportation and environmental services sectors.
AXA Investment Managers–Real Assets – Justin Travlos has been appointed to lead the asset manager’s business in UK taking over from retiring Dorrien Thomas. Travlos joins from the listed Australian real estate company Stockland where he was regional development manager. Travlos assumes his role in January next year and will be in charge of the UK business as country team head. Thomas, who has been with the firm for almost 30 years will retire at the end of the year.
Valor Real Estate Partners – Brad Stitchberry and Camila Malzkorn have joined as head of asset management and associate, respectively. Stitchberry will oversee all aspects of project management, tenant relationships and leasing activity. He was previously vice president and market officer at Prologis. He previously held a similar role at KTR Capital. Malzkorn joins as an associate in the investment team and will help with sourcing and underwriting new investments. She previously worked at Moor Park Capital Partners.
Avison Young – Todd Korren joins the commercial real estate services firm’s New York office as principal. He will focus on tenant and landlord representation as well as assisting clients with leasing and strategic planning in New York City. Korren has more than three decades of commercial real estate experience, most recently as a principal and director of leasing of EVO Real Estate Group, prior to the firm’s merger with Herald Square Properties.
BNP Paribas Real Estate – Patrick Delcol will lead the group’s pan-European retail business. Delcol, who joined the firm in 2013, is currently the CEO of Central and Eastern Europe. He previously worked for the BESIX Group, Eastbridge Group, ING Real Estate Development and DTZ. Marcin Klammer has joined the company as CEO for Central and Eastern Europe. Klammer was previously the European sector leader developing multinational clients in Arcadis. He was also the CEO of Arcadis’ Polish operations where he served for six years.
King & Spalding – Erik Andersen, Elizabeth Gable and Jared Zaben have been appointed partners to join the international law firm’s real estate finance team in New York. Andersen represents financial institutions, private equity funds, debt funds and hedge funds in the origination of traditional and non-traditional single and multi-lender real estate-based loans. Gable counsels domestic and foreign institutions with the origination and modification of permanent, construction, leverage and mezzanine financing projects. Zaben’s practice focuses on commercial real estate lending transactions. All three join from Riemer & Braunstein.
Jackyl – The newly launched real estate group has hired Celeste Bauby as head of asset management. Bauby joins the London-based firm as the company’s first major appointment. Bauby was most recently an asset manager at Thor Equities where she worked for two years. Prior to that, she also spent a couple of years at Pembroke Real Estate as an associate. Jackyl was founded by former Meyer Bergman executive Blake Loveless.
Native – The UK build to rent and aparthotel operator has appointed Tracy Peacock as director of build-to-rent (BTR). Peacock will oversee Native’s BTR business which comprises of 1,500 apartments, either in operation or under construction, across the UK. She joins from Lennar Multifamily Communities where she worked for three years. Prior to that, she worked for Greystar, Lincoln Property Management, Riverstone Property Management and American Invesco.
