Redevco – Neil Slater has been appointed CEO. Slater will join Redevco in October from Abrdn, where he currently serves as global head of real estate and real assets. Andrew Vaughan is stepping down as CEO after a career at Redevco, spanning more than two decades. Slater was previously the CEO and representative director of Abrdn’s Japanese business. He joined Standard Life Investments in 2011, leading a multidisciplinary team responsible for product structuring, tax, legal and cross-asset debt financing. Previously, Slater spent over 6 years in Switzerland with Man Group where he had responsibility for a multi-billion debt book in addition to leading the team structuring Man’s equity derivative products and OTC derivatives, fund financing, and custodial structures.
Cromwell Property – Cecile Babcock has been appointed head of business development, Europe. Prior to joining Cromwell, Babcock co-headed business development at London-based investment firm Long Harbour. Babcock has also held roles as head of product development and investor relations for multiple asset-backed debt originators in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
BentallGreenOak – Ryan Severino has been appointed to the newly-created role of chief economist and head of research for the firm’s US business. Severino will focus on global and regional economic research, analysis, and commentary, as well as supporting the company’s investment and portfolio management teams through property market forecasting. He joins from JLL where he served as chief economist and managed the economics team. He also served as senior economist and director of research at Reis in the research and economics department. Earlier in his career, he served as the associate director of research at MetLife Real Estate, and before that, the director of investment strategy and market research at Starwood Capital. Severino is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute, the American Economic Association, the National Association for Business Economics, Urban Land Institute, and National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries. Severino currently serves as an adjunct professor of finance and economics at Columbia University and New York University.
Tishman Speyer – Anne Westbrook has joined the firm’s equity capital markets team as a managing director to lead its client relationships and capital raising across the US. Westbrook will manage investor relationships and long-term partnerships throughout the US, connecting this investor base with a range of new initiatives and evolving investment opportunities. She will report to senior managing director and co-head of global equity capital markets Nate Shanok, who has been with Tishman Speyer since 2005. Westbrook comes to Tishman Speyer from Heitman, where she served as executive vice president. Prior to Heitman, Westbrook held senior capital-raising positions at a number of firms, including Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, LoanCore Capital, Square Mile Capital and Beekman Capital Partners.
ArcLight Capital Partners – The middle market infrastructure investor has appointed Leo Denault, former Entergy chairman and CEO, as a senior advisor and ArcLight Power Infrastructure board member. Denault will work with ArcLight on new investments across the power and utility infrastructure sectors. Prior to Entergy, Denault was vice president of Cinergy (now Duke Energy).
Apache Capital – Alan Penfold has been promoted to managing director of Present Made, the single-family build-to-rent housing platform of Apache Capital. Penfold, who had previously been an executive director at Present Made, will work alongside Apache Capital’s CEO John Dunkerley and chairman Mervyn Howard following the departure of founding partner Richard Jackson. Penfold spent four years as a director at Apache Capital before moving over to Present Made. Before joining Apache Capital, he held land and development-focused roles at Barratt Homes, Bellway Homes and Crest Nicholson.
Ofi Invest Real Estate – Sébastien Chemouny has been appointed chief executive officer. Chemouny was previously head of France for Allianz Real Estate (now Pimco Prime Real Estate), after holding various positions within Allianz Real Estate, including head of asset management and head of portfolio management. Prior to that, he worked at GE Real Estate, GE North Americaand GE Real Estate Europe. He will also be responsible for developing the real estate asset management business among French andforeign investors.
Vasakronan - Staffan Hansén, chief executive officer of Swedish national pensions buffer fund AP3, has been elected as a member of the board of Vasakronan - the Swedish property company equally owned by AP3 and the other main buffer funds AP1, AP2 and AP4. Hansén replaces Pablo Bernengo, CIO of AP3 on Vasakronan’s board.
Urban Land Institute – Ben Collins has been appointed executive director for the UK. Collins joins from Penta Group and brings over 15 years’ experience in the sector including a decade at RICS where he was a UK regional director, and 5 years as chief executive at NIFHA. Collins will be responsible for leading the Institute’s continuous growth and development, and optimising its impact and influence in the sector, including in local and regional development issues and land use policies.
ThomasLloyd – Duncan Black, former managing director of Asia Infrastructure Advisors, has been appointed head of portfolio and asset management. Based in Singapore, Black will drive the firm’s expansion of institutional investments in renewable energy infrastructure projects across Asia. Black will lead the ongoing monitoring and assessment of portfolio performance through the whole life cycle of assets acquired at the development, construction, and operational stages. He will also drive the creation and implementation of the firm’s value creation and long-term asset management strategy. Additionally, he will oversee and implement the risk management strategy for all assets in the portfolio. Black was previously co-head of infrastructure at Eastspring Investments; a founding partner of Daestrum Capital; worked as head of acquisitions, infrastructure at Deutsche Asset Management Asia; and served as CFO of CLP Holdings’ Australian vertically integrated utility business, among other senior management positions in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.
IP Investment Management – Jason Lamb, director, investor relations, has relocated from IPIM’s Singapore office to launch the new UK venture. Lamb’s team will focus on servicing existing clients and fundraising for new IPIM-managed private equity real estate funds.
