Palisade Real Assets-owned UK-based bioenergy platform BioticNRG has acquired Evercreech Renewable Energy for an unspecified sum.

Evercreech, an organic waste anaerobic digestion technology plant located in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, provides the equivalent of up to 8,000 homes with UK-produced green gas.

The Evercreech acquisition is the latest anaerobic digestion (AD) addition to the APG-backed BioticNRG platform, bringing its portfolio to nine across the UK.

The BioticNRG sites operate as gas-to-grid facilities, supplying gas into the National Grid and biogenic COto local consumers.

BioticNRG also provides full site management operational services for an additional four third-party-owned AD plants, and it owns five compost sites across the Midlands and East of England.

Ed Bastow, CEO of BioticNRG, said: “We are pleased to secure Evercreech AD site to the group. It is an excellent strategic fit with our existing AD plants in the South West and allows us to significantly expand our operations and pool resources.”

Stephen Burns, managing director of Palisade Real Assets, said: “This acquisition builds upon BioticNRG’s position as a leading owner and operator in the UK anaerobic digestion sector. Evercreech aligns with the platform’s broader expansion plans and desire to be a solution to the UK’s food waste challenge.”
