School Employees Retirement System of Ohio has increased its real estate exposure with $125m (€111.5m) in commitments across secondaries and residential strategies.
The pension fund disclosed in a board meeting summary document that it allocated $75m to Blackstone Strategic Partners Real Estate IX within the non-core segment of its real estate portfolio.
Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Kentucky also committed $65m to the Blackstone fund.
Blackstone launched Fund IX in April with an undisclosed target, following a $2.6bn final close for Fund VIII in late 2023.
The new fund will pursue limited partner liquidity solutions, general partner-led secondary transactions and co-investments in North American private real estate fund interests.
Blackstone declined a request for comment.
Ohio SERS made a $50m commitment to the TA Realty Residential Real Estate Fund, an open-ended core residential investment.
