Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund has approved a $50m (€47.6m) commitment into the Fairfield US Multifamily Core Plus Fund II, according to the pension fund meeting document.

According to sources that track fundraising, Fairfield, which has so far raised $450m for the US multifamily fund, is seeking to raise $750m in total to acquire existing properties.

Ohio Police & Fire told IPE Real Assets that: “OP&F has been an active multifamily investor for years based on its market views. New investment capacity has been created by sales of successful, mature investments.

“The new commitment represents an opportunity to continue building exposure to the sector with another capable manager.”

Ohio Police & Fire also said it has also made an $80m commitment to iCON Infrastructure Partners VI, a fund planning to raise $3bn to make investments in Europe and North America.
