Invesco Real Estate has hired Mike Bessell to head its European research arm, a role previously held by Kim Politzer. 

Politzer joined Fidelity International’s European real estate business as director of research in March this year.

The €55.9bn global real estate manager said it has appointed Bessell senior director - European research strategist to head up the firm’s dedicated, in-house research team across Europe.  Invesco manages 144 assets across 12 European countries and with assets under management of €9.3bn.

Andy Rofe, the managing director for Invesco Real Estate in Europe, said: “Mike’s appointment is key to our business, both globally and in Europe, as he helps to shape, develop and communicate the forecasts and strategy recommendations that are fundamental to Invesco Real Estate’s client mandates and also reinforce our investment strategy group as we seek to generate even better performance for our clients.

“Mike will head up our long-standing team of experienced research professionals based in London, Paris and Munich, who between them cover all of the UK and European real estate markets, cities and sectors.”
