AXA Real Estate has opened an office in South Korea.

The Seoul office is the investment manager’s third in Asia, having opened offices in Singapore in 2008 and Tokyo in 2006.

The company said the new office would allow it to develop separate mandate initiatives in the region, as well as serve existing and new South Korean clients.

Pierre Vaquier, chief executive at AXA Real Estate, said: “The launch of our third Asian office represents the significant opportunities we are seeing to grow the base of overseas clients investing into AXA Real Estate’s global funds.”

The new office will be managed by Cho Yun Seok, who has been appointed head of business development.

Yun joins from Simone Investment Manager, a real estate investment manager in South Korea.
