LIP Invest has acquired a DHL parcel delivery base in Oer-Erkenschwick, in the Ruhr region of Germany for one of its logistics funds.
The Munich-based real estate investment specialist said the asset was acquired from Lütkenhaus Immobilien, a private portfolio holder from the region.
The total rental area of the parcel distribution centre is around 5,000sqm and includes six ramp gates for trucks, 43 sprinter gates and a ground-level gate. Due to the access options on both sides, the property is also suitable for use as a transshipment property and is therefore “highly suitable for third-party use”, LIP said.
To meet future requirements, the logistics property will also be equipped with e-charging stations, the company added.
Bodo Hollung, managing director and partner of LIP Invest, said: ”Although e-commerce is currently affected by economic restraint, trends such as re-commerce and social commerce are creating growth opportunities in this area.
”Logistics properties, in particular parcel distribution centres, are of crucial importance in online retail to ensure smooth and fast deliveries. We are therefore delighted to have secured another of DHL’s coveted parcel distribution centres for our portfolio.”
