KKR’s latest Asia-Pacific infrastructure fund is seeking to raise $7bn (€6.03bn), according to a potential US pension fund backer.

Sacramento County Employees Retirement System (SCERS) disclosed in a board meeting document that it plans to make a $55m commitment to KKR Asia Pacific Infrastructure Investors III, a fund with a capital-raising target exceeding the $6.4bn finalised for its predecessor vehicle in January 2024.

According to KKR’s first-quarter earnings report, the fund has secured $4.5bn in commitments for the vehicle.

Investors III’s investment period commenced in December 2025 and is scheduled to run until the end of 2031, though no capital has been called to date.
