KGAL’s fifth European renewable energy fund has acquired a 40% stake in a German wind farm project from developer GP Joule.
The KGAL ESPF 5 fund has acquired the stake in the 28MW Bierbergen wind farm project in Lower Saxony, which is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2026 and benefits from 20 years of German EEG feed-in tariffs.
Financial details were undisclosed.
Carsten Haubner, portfolio manager at KGAL, said: “We were able to finalise the transaction with signing and closing within a few weeks and thus secure an exceptionally attractive opportunity for investors to further diversify the portfolio.”
KGAl said the core-plus ESPF 5 fund has completed 15 investments across six European countries to date.
