Kayne Anderson‘s latest US oil and gas energy assets fund, Kayne Private Energy Income Fund III, is expected to close this month with $2bn (€1.8bn) in capital commitments, surpassing its $1.5bn target, according to sources.
Teacher Retirement System of Texas has said it recently committed $100m to Private Energy Income Fund III and approved another $100m co-investment with Kayne Anderson in Karolia PIV for an undisclosed asset.
Kayne Anderson declined a request for comment.
Texas Teachers said it added to its real estate portfolio via a $350m commitment to the GCM Real Estate Strategic Platform Investments partnership, a $100m allocation to 1 Seed Partners’s 1SP Seeding and Strategic Capital Fund III and a $25m commitment to the Greystar GEPA Co-Invest II.
The pension fund’s investment in the GCM Grosvenor partnership will target opportunistic deals in the US. GCM Grosvenor has declined a request for comment.
Texas Teachers placed its allocation to the 1 Seed Partners-managed US fund within the opportunistic component of its real estate portfolio. It is 1 Seed Partners’s first time as a manager for the pension fund.
Real estate manager 1 Seed Partners is known for offering investors exposure to a diverse range of small and early-stage real estate managers across various sectors through the acquisition of general partner interests.
