Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) has approved a $100m (€88.2m) commitment to EQT Exeter’s latest US industrial value-add fund.

The pension fund disclosed in board meeting documents that it committed the capital to EQT Exeter Industrial Value Fund VII, which is targeting a $6bn capital raise.

Kansas PERS expects Fund VII to invest in value-add industrial assets across the US, targeting a mix of existing asset acquisitions and new development projects.

The commitment brings the pension fund’s total approved real estate fund commitments for the year to $525m, exceeding its initial $500m annual pacing plan, which had allocated $150m to core and $350m to non-core strategies.
