Kajima Properties Europe (KPE) has formed a €200m joint venture with an unnamed US investor to own and manage a 130,000sqm logistics facility in Germany.

KPE said it will retain an ownership stake in the International Consolidation Centre (ICC) in Bischweier, and act as long-term asset manager.

Constructed in 2025 on a 200,000sqm brownfield plot, ICC is the main hub for the Mercedes-Benz supplier network in Western Europe.

The Bischweier asset forms part of KPE’s European logistics strategy, which has delivered over 30 assets totalling more than 1.5m sqm of space since 2016, including recent projects in Hamburg and Magdeburg, the firm said.

Daniel Bumpstead, head of European investments at Kajima Properties Europe, said: “This landmark transaction is a perfect blueprint of KPE’s strategy to create mission-critical best-in-class assets that are deeply attractive to high-calibre investors.

“This partnership underscores the enduring demand for prime, ESG-led logistics, and we are proud to have helped deliver a facility that supports Mercedes-Benz’s global operations and to have an ongoing role in its success.”
