Karim Habra, head Europe and Asia-Pacific and global head of strategic partnerships at Ivanhoé Cambridge, is joining Partners Group as global co-head at the private-markets firm’s $17bn (€15.6bn) real estate business.
Partners Group said Habra, who will join the company as partner in March this year, will assume the joint role alongside current global real estate head Mike Bryant, who is also a partner.
Partners Group said Habra’s appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to further scaling its real estate business globally.
Before joining Ivanhoé Cambridge in 2018, Habra held various senior positions at LaSalle Investment Management, including being head of continental Europe. Prior to that, he worked at JER Partners and GE Capital, where he started his career before rising to managing director for Central and Eastern Europe.
Juri Jenkner, president and co-head of investments at Partners Group, said: “Private markets are set to play a fundamental role in transforming real estate assets to meet the powerful thematic trends of decarbonisation, shifting consumer preferences and digitisation. Karim’s experience will be extremely valuable as we look to identify opportunities globally and build leading real estate portfolios.”
Habra said: “I’m delighted to join Partners Group’s established real estate team. We have a clear vision for scaling the business over the next few years. At this point in the cycle, we are starting to see exciting opportunities appear in our high-conviction sectors.”
