Oxford Properties picked up the coveted title at the IPE Real Estate Global Conference & Awards 2025 in Rome, securing the Global Real Estate Investor of the Year award.
The global real estate arm of Canadian pension fund OMERS also picked up the North America, Industrial/Logistics Investment Strategy, Office Investment Strategy and Retail Investment Strategy awards.
Dutch pension fund asset manager APG was awarded Sustainable Investor of the Year award and Pension Protection Fund was awarded the Innovation award.
The Large Real Estate Investor of the Year was awarded to PensionDanmark in addition to Core and Core-plus Strategies and Value-add and Opportunistic Strategies awards.
National Pension Service picked up awards for Portfolio Construction, Asia Pacific and Core and Core-plus Strategies at the event this week.
The Outstanding Industry Contribution trophy was jointly presented to Cornel Widmer, who has been at Zurich Insurance for the last 26 years, half of that as the insurer’s global real estate head, and Lisette van Doorn, who recently stepped down as Urban Land Institute Europe CEO after a decade in the role.
French multinational insurer AG2R La Mondiale was for the second year in a roll recognised for its Commitment to Diversity, and also again won in the Belgium & France Regional and the Alternatives Strategy categories.
Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors won the Netherlands, Environmental Sustainability, Indirect Strategy and Listed Strategy awards.
Church Commissioners for England picked up the Biodiversity and Environmental Sustainability awards, with Greater Manchester Pension Fund securing the UK & Ireland and Social Impact awards.
Townsend was named Investment Consultancy of the Year, and Ruben Welleweerd received the Future Leader of the Year award.
This year’s IPE Real Estate Global Awards attracted over 160 entries from 12 countries around the world. The total market value of the institutional investors taking part was more than €2.7trn, while collectively their real estate assets exceeded €240bn.
