Ivanhoé Cambridge has won Global Real Estate Investor of the Year at the IPE Real Estate Global Conference & Awards 2023 in Milan.
The C$69bn (€46.1bn) global real estate arm of Canadian institutional investor CDPQ picked up the top award as well as the categories for ESG, Portfolio Construction, North America, Environmental Sustainability, Investment in Asia-Pacific, Investment in North America, Opportunistic Strategy and Value-added strategy.
Dutch pensions manager APG retained its hold of the Real Assets & Infrastructure Investor of the Year trophy and also picked up the Listed Strategy and Technology & Innovation awards at the ceremony.
French insurer AG2R La Mondiale received the Commitment to Diversity award.
Large Real Estate Investor of the Year went to Danish life and pension insurer Velliv. French pension fund Ircantec picked up the Medium Real Estate Investor of the Year and Social Impact awards.
Aware Super received the award for Asia-Pacific in the regional category.
Oxford Properties grabbed Alternatives Strategy, Core and Core-plus Strategies and Direct Strategy awards.
CPP Investments also picked up three trophies as it won the Investment in Asia-Pacific, Investment in Emerging Markets and Investment in Europe awards.
Torben Möger Pedersen, PensionDanmark’s CEO, was handed the Outstanding Industry Contribution trophy. Pedersen, who has been with PensionDanmark for over three decades is also chairman of Denmarks Export and Investment Fund.

This year’s IPE Real Estate Global Awards attracted over 200 entries across all categories.
From 17 countries around the world, the total market value of the institutional investors that took part was more than €5.1trn, while collectively their real estate and real assets under management exceeded €465bn. They competed in 33 categories split by theme, region and size.
