Invesco Real Estate and Fokus Nordic have partnered to invest in high-quality residential properties in Finland.

Fokus Nordic has served as a local partner to Invesco Real Estate in the Nordics since Invesco entered the region in 2008, with the latest Finnish venture marking their first project together in the country.

Together, the pair have so far invested in more than €1.4bn in assets across 18 transactions.

The new partnership will initially target the acquisition and long-term management of modern rental housing in Finland’s Helsinki, Tampere and Turku affluent sub-markets.

John German, MD and head of living investments in Europe at Invesco Real Estate, said the firm’s Nordic residential investments are currently €390m, representing around 13% of the firm’s total residential portfolio, with 891 units across eight investments in Denmark. “It is the second largest market across our resi portfolio.”

German added: “The launch of this new partnership into the Finnish residential sector underscores our commitment to expand our presence across the Nordic residential markets and allows us to leverage Fokus Nordic’s extensive local market expertise and operational capabilities in Finland.

“The residential sector offers compelling investment opportunities for our international and European investors, driven by urbanisation trends and a strong demand for quality rental housing.”

Tonny Nielsen, group CEO and partner at Fokus Nordic, said: ”We are very proud of our long-lasting, and successful co-operation with Invesco Real Estate and are grateful for the trust placed in us.

“We look forward to assisting the firm in implementing its local residential investment strategy and hope to make additional announcements before the end of 2025.”
