International Campus Group is widening its reach by joining forces with fellow developers Corag and Kollitsch & Reichstamm to construct an apartment building for students in Austria’s capital.
The planning application for the property of around 4,300sqm has already been submitted and completion is scheduled for the end of 2019.
International Campus said the development, which will be situated at Vienna’s main railway station, will be operated by the company under the Fizz brand and will be known as The Fizz Wien Hauptbahnhof.
The Munich-based developer of student housing and micro-apartment buildings said Fizz Wien Hauptbahnhof will have 195 single and double apartments and various communal spaces and a 90sqm sized rooftop terrace.
Alexander Gulya, the managing director of International Campus in Austria, said: “We are delighted to have acquired the contract from ÖBB Infrastruktur.
“We have already submitted the planning application. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2019, and we and want to get the construction underway quickly.”
The latest joint venture is part of International Campus’ expansion plan into Central and Eastern Europe.
In February this year, the firm teamed up with the Czech project developer Karlín Group to buy a project development in the Holešovice district of Prague with 529 apartments for students.
Currently, the group operates, is implementing, or is planning around 11,800 apartments in Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Austria.
