Nordic infrastructure investor Infranode has added a newly built school facility in Sweden to its social infrastructure portfolio.

Infranode has acquired the asset in Södra Änggården in Gothenburg from Platzer for an unspecified amount.

The 10,000sqm school facility, fully leased for 20 years, currently serves approximately 700 primary students.

Building management will be handled in collaboration with facility and maintenance providers, Infranode added.

Joel Löfroth, the head of investments in Sweden at Infranode, said: “The investment in Södra Änggården holds great potential, and we are excited to support the area’s development. Well-functioning school facilities play a vital role in society, and we are proud to help create stable conditions for education.

“With this acquisition, we strengthen our position as a long-term owner of social infrastructure in the Nordics and look forward to further investments in the sector.”

Marie Teike, the head of development at Platzer, said: “I am proud of Platzer’s contribution in transforming Södra Änggården. As part of our ambition to create a vibrant neighbourhood, the state-of-the-art school we built is an important piece of the puzzle.

“I am also pleased that we have found a long-term owner for the school in Infranode, who will continue to manage and develop the property.”
