Infracapital, the infrastructure private equity investment arm of M&G, has acquired a stake in German submetering and billing services firm BCP Metering.

The infrastructure manager is investing an undisclosed sum through its Infracapital Partners IV fund to acquire the interest alongside existing investor B Capital Partners.

BCP Metering installs and provides long-term rental of sub-metering equipment to multi-tenanted residential schemes and property management companies.

Capital from the transaction will fund BCP Metering’s next phase of expansion. B Capital and Infracapital intend to execute a consolidation strategy, partnering with the company’s management team to scale the platform via organic growth and bolt-on acquisitions.

Herman Deetman, managing director at Infracapital, said: “BCP Metering operates in an established and resilient segment of the infrastructure market, with strong underlying demand driven by greater transparency requirements and digitalisation.

“We look forward to supporting the company at an exciting stage of its development as it delivers on its growth strategy and continues to build its position in the German market.”

Barbara Weber, founding partner at B Capital Partners, said: “We are delighted to welcome Infracapital as a strategic partner at an important stage in the platform’s development.

“With strong growth momentum, an active acquisition pipeline and supportive dynamics in Germany, the business is well positioned to continue its expansion.”
