Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) of the State of Illinois has added Brookfield Asset Management to its infrastructure manager line-up with a $250m (€221m) commitment to the manager’s fund.
TRS Illinois said the commitment was made to the Brookfield Infrastructure Fund IV-B, the global infrastructure fund which raised $20bn in February this year.
The pension fund has also approved a $200m commitment to Blackstone’s Strategic Partners Infrastructure III.
According to sources, Infrastructure III concluded an $862m capital raise earlier this year to target infrastructure assets in places like the US, UK, Western Europe and North America.
