Principal Asset Management has hired Richard Hill from Cohen & Steers to head global real estate research and strategy at firm.

Hill, who joined Cohen & Steers as head of real estate strategy and research in September 2022, will now lead the $100bn (€91.7bn) Principal Real Estate’s global real estate research team, providing clients with the firm’s economic and real estate insights.

With 24 years in the industry, Hill’s experience includes more than nine years at Morgan Stanley, where he oversaw commercial real estate research, covering real estate investment trust equity, commercial real estate debt and macro property analysis, prior to his tenure at Cohen & Steers.

Hill also held roles at Bank of America and served as a director of strategy for commercial mortgage-backed securities and collateralised loan obligations at RBS Greenwich Capital.
