Global rental housing investor Greystar is adding a 257-unit residence France to its portfolio.

Greystar is investing an unspecified amount to acquire the asset in Courbevoie being developed by VINCI Construction’s real estate development arm Adim Paris Ile-de-France, in partnership with Mirabeau Asset Management.

The project, which offers studios and apartments to students and young professionals, is located west of Paris at the gateway to La Défense and represents an expansion of Greystar’s premium managed residential brand, Canvas, in France.

The opening of the Courbevoie residence is expected in late 2027.

The latest deal increases Greystar’s French portfolio to over 1,600 owned apartments and nearly 3,000 third-party managed apartments, for a total of almost 4,600 units. Globally Greystar manages and operates over $300bn (€257.5bn) in real estate across nearly 250 markets.

Thomas Charvet, managing director of Greystar France, said: “We continue to strengthen the Canvas brand in France with a third property in the Paris region, in Courbevoie.

“Following the commercial success of Canvas La Défense, our first student residence with 644 rooms in Puteaux, the groundbreaking of our 400-room Canvas Toulouse Altiplano residence, and the completion of our 310-room Canvas Paris Ivry student residence at the end of the year, this new step in Courbevoie reflects our commitment to expanding our offering with residences dedicated to young professionals.”
