Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC and Macquarie Asset Management have partnered with AI research firm Anthropic to develop, operate and lease US data centres.
The partners have established Theseus Infrastructure to build purpose-built large-scale facilities for Anthropic under long-term agreements.
Funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management and GIC will own the platform and provide the majority of the equity for each project, with an initial focus on the US.
No financial details were disclosed.
The Anthropic partnership follows two other recent landmark US AI data centre announcements.
In July 2026, BlackRock committed $4.9bn to take an 80% stake alongside Meta in a $14bn, 1GW campus in El Paso, Texas.
That same month, Brookfield partnered with energy and utility firms to announce a $100bn, 1.2GW data centre hub at the former Paducah enrichment site in Kentucky.
