Garbe Industrial’s regeneration arm has acquired a 40,000sqm brownfield site in Germany from Thyssenkrupp Materials Services.

Garbe has invested an unspecified sum to acquire the site in Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia.

Until the end of 2026, the property on Arthur-Ladebeck-Straße will continue to be used as a sales location by materials distributor Thyssenkrupp Schulte before Garbe takes possession of the site.

The company said the site already holds planning permission and initial development concepts, but it is also evaluating alternative uses before making a final commitment to a specific realisation plan.

Rick Mädel, managing director of Garbe Regeneration, said: “We already have planning permission and ideas for the realisation of the Garbe Industrial Park Bielefeld. “However, before we make a final commitment, we are still examining other possible uses.”

Mädel added that the brownfield site’s location and connections offer ideal conditions for a wide range of uses.
