A group of former GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) executives have joined forces to launch a new aircraft investment and leasing platform.

The aviation finance professionals, led by Jonty Nel as CEO, have set up FWCAS to offer customised aircraft leasing solutions to airline customers globally.

The team also includes Liam Creaven as chief technical officer, Simon Siganto as chief legal officer, and Pat Laffan as chief financial officer.

Nel held various leadership positions at GECAS including as the international executive vice-president.

Creaven joined GECAS in a technical role in 1998 and later became the company’s technical project management leader for the Asia Pacific.

Siganto, who will be joining FWCAS next month, has over 20 years of experience in aviation, having held various senior corporate counsel and management roles for airlines and lessors. He joined GECAS as in-house counsel in 2015.

Laffan spent over 20 years in senior finance roles with GECAS.

“We’re excited to return to the aircraft leasing market with FWCAS, where we’re investing selectively in the most in-demand, technologically-advanced aircraft platforms, said Nel.

“We will help airlines provide an extraordinary passenger experience at lower operating costs and with reduced carbon emissions.”
