Employees Retirement System (ERS) of Texas has approved a $100m (€87.2m) commitment to a value-add infrastructure fund managed by I Squared Capital Advisors.
The pension fund said it has committed the capital to the ISQ Growth Fund.
According to fundraising sources, I Squared Capital is seeking to raise $2bn for the fund. As at August last year, the fund had closed commitments of $846m.
The Growth Fund will be pursuing investment opportunities in Asia and South America.
I Squared Capital did not respond to a request for comment.
ERS of Texas also said it has approved two $20m co-investments into private infrastructure assets without disclosing any further details.
The pension fund said it made a $25m commitment to the Meridian Realty Partners Special Opportunities fund.
The fund’s manager Meridian Realty Partners did not respond to a request for comment.
ERS of Texas also made a $25m commitment to Oak Street Capital as part of the pension fund’s emerging manager real estate programme.
